1. What Are Cookies?
Cookies are small text files stored on your device when you visit a website. They are used to remember preferences, enable functionality, and (with your consent) deliver personalized advertising.
2. Cookies We Use
| Cookie | Type | Purpose | Duration |
|---|---|---|---|
| cookie_consent cookie_consent_ts | Necessary | Stores your cookie consent preference (accepted/rejected) and the timestamp of that choice | localStorage — 12 months, then re-prompted |
| IDE | Advertising (optional) | Google DoubleClick — personalised ad targeting and measurement | 13 months |
| _gads | Advertising (optional) | Google AdSense — links activity to the user's device for ad attribution | 13 months |
| DSID | Advertising (optional) | Google DoubleClick — identifies a signed-in user on non-Google sites | 2 weeks |
| ar_debug | Advertising (optional) | Google AdSense — ad rendering debug (only present during ad troubleshooting) | Session |
Google AdSense cookies are only placed after you click "Accept" in our cookie banner. If you click "Reject", no advertising cookies are set and non-personalised (contextual) ads may still be shown.

3. Analytics
We use Cloudflare Web Analytics which is cookieless — it does not set cookies and does not collect personal data. No consent is required.
4. Managing Your Preferences
You can change your cookie preferences at any time:
- Click "Manage cookie preferences" in the footer at any time to reset your choice
- Use your browser settings to block or delete cookies
- Opt out of Google personalised advertising: google.com/settings/ads
- Opt out of interest-based advertising generally: aboutads.info
- European opt-out: youronlinechoices.com
5. Legal Basis
Non-essential cookies (advertising) are placed on the basis of your explicit consent (Article 6(1)(a) GDPR + LSSI-CE Article 22.2). The consent banner displays "Accept" and "Reject" buttons with equal prominence, as required by AEPD guidelines.
